CONSTRUCTION STATUS REPORT

West Fork Bitterroot River Road, MT PFH 66-1(3), (along Painted Rocks Lake)

Accomplishments through Aug. 02, 2002:

Pumco, Inc. continued clearing trees and debris from the roadway area extended the silt fence and pioneered cut slopes.  Pumco, Inc had a blade in working on getting the washboards and pot holes out the roadway.  As you may already know Pumco, Inc. will not be working today (Friday), so there will be no interruptions to traffic for the entire weekend.

Activities planned for the week of Aug. 05, 2002:

Pumco Inc. is still working on completing other projects, which when complete will free up equipment for the West Fork project.  Pumco, Inc. is planning on starting underdrain in the Slate Creek area on Monday.   Later in the week they may start on excavation in the retaining wall areas on the North end of the project.  This means that the road could be fully closed during the two-hour block road closure times.  It is Pumco’s goal to keep traffic moving through the project as often as possible and to not close the road until necessary.

As a reminder, road closures are to be expected: 8am-10am, 12pm-2pm, and 4pm-5:30 pm weekdays (except Friday has only 8am-10am and 12pm-2pm closure periods).  During all other times between 7am-5:30 pm Monday-Thursday and 7am-3:30 pm Friday, flaggers will let cars through as much as they can, but expect up to 15-minute delays.
